I was lucky enough to see the brand new Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT yesterday; but I'm still not sure about this one. I mean there are a lot of better cars one could buy around $100k. What do you guys think?

If I was only allowed to get one car? Hell yes.

$100k for an outdated, slow, car with an awful paintjob? I'll pass.

Hmmm. Would be a very hard decision for me between the Aston, Viper T/A, or a Model S P85+ (all very different, I know). It also depends on my needs at the time (aka need to haul kids or not).
On a side note, what do you think is a better car for $100k? M5?

If by Aston Martin you mean a new Ford, then yes.

Honestly, if I had around 100k for a sports car, it would be between an Aston and an R8.

Cayman GTS in my opinion.

I'd get a used Audi R8 or lightly optioned s550.

They sticker for much more than 100K

Yes.

how much are they with a few options?

Like low 100s, but still, that 99k number isn't the case.

I don't think I could. Too many other cars available for that kind of money. That's almost M6 Gran Coupe money.

Understood, but you could have AN ASTON.

We need to buy one.
I wish I could just sell all my cars and buy one car like this and be happy. It would be cost neutral.
But I have commitment problems. I like driving different cars on different days...

On paper, maybe?
I could say no, because on paper I'd rather have a 997.2 GT3, or an F-Type R coupe, or a new Cayman GTS, or an RS7, or an R8...but I really don't know because I haven't driven any of em.
I had ZERO interest in the 335i or E90 M3 until I drove em....likewise other cars I was very interested in (B8 S4) kinda left me disappointed.
So I don't know what my answer to the $100k question is...but I'd have a lot of fun trying to find out!
Ask me what $50k sport sedan I want though...I've driven most of em and I'll say E90 M3 every damn time.

I've got 99 problems and commitment is like 70 of them.
If you have Aston problems I envy you son, I've got 99 problems and an Aston is none.

Maybe if I was british AND extremely patriotic?

Haha classic
We need to get Astons one day so one of our 99 problems with be a finicky hand-built English car

I'd buy an SVT Raptor and a Challenger Srt8 personally or a FIST, a wrangler rubicon, 2008 Mustang Bullitt, and my first car back a 2001 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer and fix it up

This one sold at Bonhams in May for ~$82,000. There are more expensive examples out there though...

If I could find a used V12 Vantage for 100k, heck yes. Unfortunately, they're still 130k+...
